Crystal Mind Counseling does not accept insurance. This allows for therapy to be tailored to your needs without restrictions or expectations on session length, frequency, diagnoses, or the type of treatment you receive.
If you have out-of-network benefits you may be eligible for reimbursement. I’m happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible partial reimbursement.
Crystal Mind Counseling also accepts HSA/FSA payments for added flexibility.

FAQs
CAN I USE OUT-OF-NETWORK BENEFITS?
Absolutely. If you have out-of-network insurance benefits, you are welcome to use them.
I am happy to submit claims on your behalf (via a company called Thrizer) or provide you with a monthly superbill, so you can coordinate with your insurance company directly.
HOW MUCH WILL I PAY FOR THERAPY USING OUT-OF-NETWORK BENEFITS?
If you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance company will typically reimburse you for 60-80% of the cost of each session after you’ve met your deductible.
Use the calculator aboveto get an instant estimate of your out-of-network coverage, including your deductible, the amount remaining on your deductible, and an estimated reimbursement amount post-deductible.
I’d also be happy to check your benefits for you during our free intro call! Just be sure to have your insurance card handy.
You can also confirm your health insurance benefits with your insurance provider directly. However, I do highly recommend using the benefits calculator above to save you time and energy!
WHY DON’T YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE FOR THERAPY?
Insurance companies often restrict the number of sessions, require a diagnosis for coverage, and dictate which treatments are allowed. This is very limiting for both individual therapy and couples therapy. In fact, many insurance plans do not cover traditional couples therapy since it is not considered medically necessary. By staying out-of-network, we can focus on what works best for you without outside interference. In addition, many therapists, including myself, can’t afford to accept the reimbursements that insurance companies offer while still providing the quality of care we believe our clients deserve.
HOW DO I ACTUALLY USE MY OUT-OF-NETWORK BENEFITS?
Your out-of-network benefits are usually pretty straightforward to use. We have two options:
I partner with a company, Thrizer, who can submit claims to your insurance company on your behalf for a small fee. After you meet your deductible, you have the option to either pay in full and wait for reimbursement or simply pay your co-insurance. Thrizer can cover the rest of our session cost for you while they wait for reimbursement from your insurance company.
If you prefer to deal with your insurance company yourself, I will provide you with a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. You will be responsible for paying for each session in full at time of appointment.
We can discuss these options in more detail on an intro call and see what works best for you!
WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS OF OPERATION?
My hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 9:00 am-5:00 pm and Friday 9:00 am-1:00 pm.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
If a client cancels with less than 24 hours' notice or fails to arrive within the first 15 minutes of their session, they will incur a charge for the full session fee. This policy is standard within the mental health field and acknowledges that the client is not only paying for the services rendered but also for reserving a time slot, which cannot be offered to someone else on short notice.
HOW LONG WILL I BE IN THERAPY FOR?
This is different for every person. It can last as little as 3 months or as long as 5 years (or more, and that’s ok)! Sometimes therapy remains ongoing for many years in the form of periodical maintenance (e.g. an appointment once a month or once every few months to make sure you’re checking in during life changes, hard times, or just for a refresher).
WHEN DO YOU SEE CLIENTS IN PERSON?
I offer in-person appointments on Wednesdays only. My office is located at 2525 Wallingwood Dr, Ste 802. These spots tend to fill up quickly. If a spot isn’t available, I’m happy to put you on my waitlist. I also offer telehealth sessions from Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. I’ve found that telehealth sessions have continued to provide the same effectiveness as in-person sessions. In addition, it has given clients more flexibility with the times in which they can schedule their appointments (it’s not unusual a client will have a session in their car, at home, on their lunch break, or even outside, wherever privacy is available). If you find telehealth doesn’t feel right for you after trying it out, we can discuss referral options for you!
